Authorization: operator request in this Codex chat, “please resume autocoder engine with gpt 6.1 sol high”.
Repository change: PR #6875, source 2bf3bdf8eb37d0350ff26a90b283b3c63b66b51c. Enable background automation, implementation workers and requirements scheduling in root and environment configuration. Disable the supervised-only pilot loop because it explicitly requires general automation to remain paused. Model selection was already GPT-6.1 Sol/high for all Codex workloads.
At 2026-10-07 00:04 UTC, serialized the production configuration rollout with the existing autocoder-engine/autocoder-database-migration Lease. Published immutable, repository-rendered ConfigMaps autocoder-env-acd553a9adebb88cc11c37e255cb143153d6860e6d0640399c9926da19de2ae0 and autocoder-root-fdd391aa6df10c7b847b647bdfea55211494df0302a5f9890faae75dfd9c7c1a; configuration digest d9d48983d3f78f622d6f583a5fd01fefe7325433a447e73d80382c08fae62685. Applied a resourceVersion-guarded configuration-only deployment patch, retaining the validated runtime image sha256:0e0111f9fcb8869f8bdd409371f1491e805aeaaae91d39d2828c3478412feb6e and existing worker sessions. Lease released after verification. No RBAC or Secret changes.
Evidence: deployment rolled out 1/1 Ready; /healthz returned ok; repository renderer verify-bound passed against the live deployment. Automatic requirements scheduling enabled in startup logs. At 00:04:56 UTC, the worker for subscription account codex-account-32561fee03fb1878eb1618881cefda91 claimed retained task superproject-chat-1790611631555266273; database showed it running with model gpt-6.1-sol and effort high. Three automation subscriptions had current provider observations and available quota. Protected main account, fallback reserve, authentication blocks and account enablement remain in place. Phoenix, paid-provider categorization, its expired authorization, and startup wrap-up backfill remain disabled.
Repository integration: branch validation and merge into dev are still pending at this record's creation. Runtime resume is verified separately from integration.
Independent limitation: escalation-review batch deserialization panicked at src/codex_accounts/escalation_methods.rs:545 when a nullable superproject identifier was read as String. This affects the escalation review loop; ordinary task claim was observed afterward. Preserve as a bounded follow-up: inspect nullable schema and evidence, return typed nullable context without dropping findings, validate against a null-project escalation on the worker route, and verify the review loop survives. Duplicate-detection provider authentication also returned 401; no credential or paid-provider permission was changed.
Rollback: prior deployment snapshot retained in /home/ax_julian/temp/autocoder-resume-engine-20261007/resume-before.json; prior immutable ConfigMaps remain available. If rollback is required, reacquire the same Lease, guard current deployment ownership/resourceVersion, and restore only the former configuration bindings and digest. Preserve running work and database history. Administrator owns this task-scoped snapshot; retain for seven days or until integration and post-delivery verification complete.
Branch validation passed at exact source 2bf3bdf8eb37d0350ff26a90b283b3c63b66b51c in 3m33s. PR #6875 merged into dev as ded49b2447eb901337985c64734d54b863bf4bd7; a fresh fetch and ancestry check verified integration. The retained task superproject-chat-1790611631555266273 completed with gpt-6.1-sol, reasoning high, exit status 0 and no task error. Production remained 1/1 Ready, /healthz returned ok, and the desired immutable configuration binding remained selected after integration. Three escalation rows have null superproject identifiers, confirming the separately recorded review-loop defect. No model downgrade or paid API fallback was enabled by this change.
Operator requested budgeting/throttling, maximum useful evenly paced included capacity, implementation of pacing, and live deployment. PR #6895 implements durable per-account/per-provider-window baselines, earned capacity, reservation debt, guarded admission, queue deferral and running-task checkpoints. Automation accounts have no artificial manual reserve; the designated fallback retains its 30% manual-only floor and the main-account demand forecast remains enforced. Existing paid budget and hourly admission are separate.
Reviewed delivery repairs: source-count regression PR #6904, exact reviewed main requirement reconciliation PR #6906, and equivalent guarded delivery-fixture admission PR #6905. Redundant PR #6917 was closed after verifying its repair was already integrated. Worker verification included 18 pacing database cases, adaptive/manual-protection and checkpoint cases, full native tests, and the four affected delivery fixtures. The prior priority-history CI failure passed unchanged standalone and after the exact shared-database prefix (23 tests); its original failure cause remains unproved.
Serving deployment evidence at 01:27 UTC: source efde40311cea08e510e5a274bfae2d6918de8506, candidate efde40311cea08e510e5a274bfae2d6918de8506-4322-1; candidate4322 and production promotion4325 succeeded. Backend sha256:d4ff8bb0fb6581dc8aa57070ae10c71820f65ffd7ac09fd0fef0dc1d864200cb and frontend sha256:3b789f3105844de1807aa342c10efc9ead0c7925b88ab5910512a990304d91d3 were observed Ready. Candidate lifecycle is production_live. Public /healthz returned HTTP200 with production environment and exact source header; /pkg/build-revision.txt returned that source. Repository-managed pacing configuration is true and database pacing policy is enabled, with durable fresh provider baselines for three automation subscriptions. Runtime selects gpt-6.1-sol/high. Protected main admission was denied for protected-headroom-at-risk; its pacing windows still show the 30% fallback floor. Existing API account budget remains150000000 USD-micros ($150).
The new serving pod initially remained unready because a SELECT connection from the removed engine pod held AccessShareLock on worker-task tables while PostgreSQL waited to return results to its missing client. Verified backend PID963580, client10.244.238.13, backend start2026-10-07T00:07:45.259926Z, ClientWrite wait, no write transaction, SELECT query fingerprint7b502a57a6ccd75972265ff8ebd35922, and an exact blocking link to the startup migration. No current cluster pod owned that client IP. Terminated only that orphaned read connection with all identity/state predicates rechecked in the mutation. Startup migrations completed, pacing tables appeared, and serving readiness and public health recovered. Worker processes, task records, credentials and transcripts were preserved; no broad kill, RBAC or Secret change occurred. Startup incurred two container restarts before restoration. Prevention is an open bounded follow-up: prove bounded dead-client connection release or graceful database-reader shutdown during engine replacement, without cancelling live worker execution; this containment alone does not establish prevention.
The serving image deliberately excludes the full execution toolchain. Existing worker image remains sha256:9cd112ff34ee81eb5b08e153f46da6357ceb630ee7daa0bafe127045a47728a4; serving deployment alone does not establish paced worker behavior. Repository workflow worker publication4326 is already running on main 948f9f958ed673d65c3ddd79699f69d4b415029d with exact input source efde40311cea08e510e5a274bfae2d6918de8506. No duplicate build was dispatched. Follow documentation/configs/CANDIDATE_TEST_DELIVERY.md full-worker publish-and-drain path; do not point workers at the serving-only image. This chat owns monitored continuation and must observe the published worker digest, actual normal task reservations/deferrals/checkpoints, retained history, model/effort and reserve/paid protections before reporting pacing complete. Provider reporting delay is unknown; earned capacity and estimates cannot prove perfectly uniform or full quota use.
Rollback: repository pacing flag false retains pacing baselines/debt and independent manual/API protections; use the reviewed repository configuration route and existing deployment migration Lease. Worker image workflow retains/restores its prior pin on failed rollout. Preserve session/checkpoint records and the immutable accepted serving artifacts.
Worker publication run 4326 succeeded for main 948f9f958ed673d65c3ddd79699f69d4b415029d (production source efde40311cea08e510e5a274bfae2d6918de8506). All five worker pods on drg-k8s-worker-01 are Ready and report immutable image sha256:84c3d0c7fee5c436552e1893844a5fdf4ed670e1d8e938ca211070b3623d1b39.
Live acceptance remains incomplete. Account codex-account-3b0fc7d60e8efa2756c222e29bbc9d7e reports zero usage and a deadline that advances on each refresh. Treating each deadline as a new epoch invalidates the running allocation and causes repeated checkpoints/reclaims every one to six seconds. At 01:37, 168 one-point grants were retained across the two windows. Account a855, whose deadlines remained stable, completed preserved task superproject-monitor-476-1791331532737021353 at 01:34 with GPT-6.1 Sol/high. Existing cancellation of the separate superproject-chat task is preserved.
Codex owns the continuity repair on branch codex/pacing-window-continuity-20261007: bind forward-moving nondecreasing readings to an immutable ledger epoch, extend its earning horizon conservatively, preserve every prior grant and baseline, and fail closed on contradictory readings. Migration does not erase uncertain debt. Review and real worker-host PostgreSQL regressions precede integration and deployment. No completion claim, paid ceiling increase, provider reset or manual-reserve use is authorized by these observations.
PR #6941, source 0d9c80664d4cd9f046c37f85903835741318e969, preserves the immutable pacing epoch across changing deadlines. Fresh shorter deadlines still govern checkpointing; the earning horizon stays conservative. Stale or contradictory observations fail closed. Migration retains every old grant and settlement flag, including the 179 points of uncertain historical debt per window observed on account 3b0. Over-cap debt requires reset evidence; it cannot earn beyond the cap. Expired idle aliases are bounded without pruning aliases needed by grants or retained observations.
Independent SQL review found no remaining blockers. Supervised worker-host verification passed 27 pacing PostgreSQL cases, 7 main-capacity cases and 2 owned-process checkpoint cases, plus formatting. Two artificial-clock fixtures were aligned with the new canonical timestamps; all safety assertions remained. Initial new-fixture type/timing/order failures were corrected, and final checks ran sequentially within their original 120-second limits. Own verification containers and 14 GiB cache volume were removed; unrelated seed work was preserved. Bounded evidence is retained until 2026-10-14.
Branch validation run 4327 is registered with watch 188 for this Codex chat and exact source SHA. Codex owns continuation through reviewed dev integration, immutable candidate/production delivery and actual live worker acceptance. Deployment is still pending for this repair. Worker execution Rust is unchanged: existing workers connect to the shared database without rerunning migrations, so the serving migration applies these functions atomically. Main protection, fallback reserves, paid limits and task cancellations remain intact.
Branch validation 4327 succeeded for exact source 0d9c80664d4cd9f046c37f85903835741318e969. PR #6941 was merged into dev as 739f53bcbb390f05eee75f77137309b022ab53f2; its tree exactly matches the independently reviewed and worker-verified source. No later pause or cancellation of the engine outcome is present; the Codex Goal is unset.
Immutable candidate workflow 4328 is running for that dev merge and registered as watch 189 to resume this chat. Codex owns the remaining candidate evidence, exact production promotion, and actual worker pacing acceptance. This integration does not yet establish that the repair is live.
Candidate run 4328 succeeded for 739f53bcbb390f05eee75f77137309b022ab53f2. The release ledger records candidate 739f53bcbb390f05eee75f77137309b022ab53f2-4328-1 as live_test, with database, unit, WASM and native validation passed. Independent pod inspection confirms both TEST workloads in namespace autocoder-test Ready at backend sha256:9d03e347bd55d6f533698ee2a6d59b33ad774be958da171b1794db4b801e0249 and frontend sha256:f45f6b158b2545b6ae52c88f52419379cf1ea1c9f5d67d470623d500312ab98c.
Automatic main promotion PR #6953 integrated as d1f0dd25315a3c488b2d939d425a141fb5aa77b0, with the exact candidate tree. Existing production promotion run 4333 is running for that main SHA; watch 192 owns continuation in this chat. No duplicate deployment was dispatched. Production rollout and behavioral acceptance remain pending. The next checks are its actual receipt and health, retained debt under refreshed provider deadlines, absence of the checkpoint/reclaim loop, ordinary queued deferrals and useful eligible-account progress. Main and fallback protections, paid limits and cancellations remain effective requirements.
Production promotion run 4333 succeeded for main d1f0dd25315a3c488b2d939d425a141fb5aa77b0. Candidate 739f53bcbb390f05eee75f77137309b022ab53f2-4328-1 is production_live; production execution receipt 9482-a02b8b10-6c83-461d-b516-32cf13a92a54. Production backend and frontend are Ready at the same immutable digests verified in TEST: backend sha256:9d03e347bd55d6f533698ee2a6d59b33ad774be958da171b1794db4b801e0249, frontend sha256:f45f6b158b2545b6ae52c88f52419379cf1ea1c9f5d67d470623d500312ab98c. Public https://codecartography.dev/healthz returned HTTP 200 and JSON "ok", with production and exact source headers; build revision endpoint reports 739f53bcbb390f05eee75f77137309b022ab53f2.
Repository-managed runtime configuration selects GPT-6.1 Sol/high, enables pacing, implementation workers and requirements automation. Existing task-specific effort overrides remain effective. All five worker pods are Ready on the worker host with previously published full worker digest sha256:84c3d0c7fee5c436552e1893844a5fdf4ed670e1d8e938ca211070b3623d1b39. The continuity repair changes database functions, not worker Rust; existing workers connect to the migrated shared database. No redundant worker publication or broad worker interruption was performed.
Actual acceptance: the defective account 3b0 last claimed at 02:16:30.631037 UTC and checkpointed at 02:16:37.998 UTC. No subsequent reclaim was observed after the migration. Natural provider refresh at 02:21:56.060874 UTC moved its reported five-hour deadline to 07:21:56 and weekly deadline to October 14 02:21:56, while preserving the original canonical epochs, 01:14:56.561316 baseline, and all prior grants. This verifies continuity under the live floating-deadline behavior rather than merely a static test fixture.
Ordinary queued task issue-outcome-review-2 was claimed on account 32561 at 02:22:02.665161 UTC and completed at 02:22:24.405248 UTC with GPT-6.1 Sol, its existing medium review effort, no task error, and settled allocations in both windows: 0.5872039866666666 points for 300 minutes and 0.2936019933333333 points for 10080 minutes. This is useful work under live pacing. Earlier normal monitor work also completed with the high default. Protected main-account admission remains denied when forecast headroom is at risk; its 30% fallback floor is retained. Existing paid account budget remains $150, and its separate hourly admission timestamp was unchanged by these paced subscription claims. Existing task cancellations were preserved. No paid fallback or new spend was used for acceptance.
Account 3b0 retains 605 historical one-point reservations per window, all settled as claims but still counted as uncertain pacing debt. These are virtual scheduling allocations, not measured quota consumption or billed money. They arose during the old checkpoint/reclaim loop and were retained by migration. Its provider counters remain at zero, but that only proves no reported percentage increase.
Read-only investigation does not prove these allocations unused. Refresh precedes execution, but the capacity guard races the whole protocol future; native goal activation can begin work as well as chat turns. Durable runtime observations have no matching start record for these 605 exact claim generations, but missing notifications/records are not a positive no-dispatch receipt. Per-attempt task stdout is overwritten, and historical checkpoint usage events do not carry exact claim identity. No debt was erased, manual reserve spent, task model downgraded, or provider reset synthesized. Maximum use of all included accounts is therefore not verified.
The bounded follow-up is safe reconciliation of old claim debt. Release a reservation only with positive evidence of no provider dispatch for that exact account/task/claim, retain the original allocation and its evidence, and keep uncertain claims charged until authoritative reset evidence. Existing history cannot retroactively establish missing dispatch receipts; future durable evidence must cover both chat-turn dispatch and native-goal activation. Acceptance must prove no credit for uncertain execution, exactly one release for proven unused execution, preservation through migration/restart, and useful normal work afterward. This is an unresolved evidence limitation, not queued background reconciliation owned by another process.
Candidate 4328 passed full native, unit, PostgreSQL and WASM checks; independent worker verification passed 36 targeted cases. Existing bounded test evidence remains at /home/ax_julian/temp/autocoder-pacing-continuity-verify-20261007/summary.json until October 14. Earlier rollback and preservation safeguards remain applicable. Deployment and the live continuity behavior are verified; the historical account-capacity limitation remains explicit.
